Getting here is easier than you may think. From the east of Norway you can drive all the way without the need for ferry crossings, and from Bergen it is a comfortable drive too. The drive from Oslo via Otta is about 580 km, and via Fagernes about 480 km. The drive from Bergen to Lavik is 135 km, and driving south from Ålesund is about 125 km.
Of course there are alternatives to driving yourself.

Flights
The region of Sogn og Fjordane has 4 airports – Florø, Førde, Sandane and Sogndal. Also, continuing your journey by express boat is simple if you arrive at Bergen International airport, as the airport bus takes you straight to the departure pier in town.

Local bus routes correspond with regional schedules from Bergen, Oslo and Trondheim, making travelling by bus an easy and economical option. From Oslo to Måløy take the “Nordfjordexpress” via Gardermoen Airport, Otta and Stryn. From Oslo to Sogndal, Skei , Førde or Florø get the “Sogn og Fjordane Express”.
