This week: Marit Gjerstad, favourite spot: The wreck Welheim close to the island Tansøy

"The FjordCoast is an eldorado for diving. You are close to the islands, which lie in this area near the mainland. There you can find fantastic diving-spots! The local diving club "Florø froskemannsklubb" owns a diving boat and organises trips 2 to 4 times a month. But you are not reliant to boats here. There are plenty of great diving spots which can be reached from land. I love nature- and wreck-diving. Welheim is a fascinating and intact wreck, which lies underwater, not far from the town Florø and is fun diving to."

When was the last time you've been there?	August 1st 2009
Are you planning to go there again?	You need a boat and good weather to dive to Welheim. I hope that we will go there in november.
Why is your hidden place so special?	Wreck-diving is a mighty experience. Welheim is a great wreck you can reach in 20 min by boat from Florø. The wreck Welheim was a German supply boat in WWII. It was torpedoed on november 28th 1944 close to the island Tansøy. The ship is 134,7 m long and lies 13 to 70 meters underwater.
What do you do when you are at your favourite spot?	I enjoy the wreck and the fishes, which use to swim around it.
What are you planning to bring next time?	Obviously diving equipment :-)
