"Kystmuseet i Sogn og Fjordane" in Florø is the district museum for the coastal area of Sogn og Fjordane county. Located on a lovely spacious coastal site, connected to the museum through paths and bridges. As well as the main buildings and open air museum in Florø, "Kystmuseet" includes collections and buildings in other parts of the district. Newly opened is Vågsberget Inn and Trading station near Måløy.

The Main Buildings:
The boathall has exhibitions of local boats, coast resources, fisheries and map making.
The other building contains the interior of a fisherman's home from around 1900 and points to connections with the North Sea countries.

Another part of the museum is called "Snorreankeret". It is an exhibition concerning the Norwegian oil-production. It tells about the origin of North Sea oil and gas, the exploration and drilling and of the life and work on the platforms using the floating platform "Snorre" as an example.

Visitors arriving by buss or large caravan can drive along Brendøyvegen, parking at the turn-off for "Kystmuseet". Visitors arriving by boat can take the local town bus, and walk to the museum from the closest bus stlop, about 800 metres. Walking from the town centre takes about 35 minutes.
